Blue State

Blue State

I’ve been working with the Blue State London team as a Freelance Senior Project Manager since May 2022, working predominantly across various UNHCR markets (HQ, UK, Germany, Spain, Greece, Canada, Romania, Italy, Brazil, Switzerland, and Denmark), UNICEF, Airbnb, Tesco, UNFPA and Fund for Global Human Rights.

Some project highlights include:

  • Leading the rebrand of Fund for Global Human Rights, working with their global stakeholders (internal and external to get to the heart of what makes FGHR such a vital organisation for activists.
  • Working with Airbnb’s EMEA and LATAM Policy team on a range of policy related paid media campaigns (Meta, LinkedIn, advertorials, programmatic, etc).
  • Working with Tesco’s Group Comms team on a range of campaigns for their Tesco News Instagram channel.

I’ve worked across a range of projects spanning paid media campaigns, donor development projects, test and learn projects, developing global programme toolkits, new global propositions, UHNWI capital campaigns and research projects.

As Senior Project Manager, I worked across multiple large international clients and managed all work streams alongside Heads of Departments. I created SOWs, budgets and resource plans ensuring projects were delivered within spec, on time, and in budget. As day-to-day point of contact for clients, I worked closely with them to provide timely updates and to ensure they were part of the overall process by leading kick off meetings and regular status updates.

This experience has allowed me to learn about the global fundraising landscape, understand how to engage donors in a range of ways, recognise the importance of iterative testing (particularly where engagement and retention are concerned) and truly get under the hood of how international NGOs can diversify their fundraising programmes. Furthermore, it gave me the opportunity to work across multiple different work streams such as media, strategy, analytics, and creative in a way I hadn’t done before.
