This season of life is called be shook and do it anyway. (Shook = scared)
To that end, I’ve started a YouTube channel documenting my way through scrappy entrepreneurship. Since the start of the pandemic I’ve started two businesses, the first a community interest company called Visualise in Motion, an organisation I started to help support creative entrepreneurs through some of the foundational elements of the entrepreneurship. The second business is a food business called Dolce Butter. I make butters for spreading, baking and cooking in flavours honey, ginger honey, vanilla and lemon.
This process is for those who have no idea what they are doing, and do it anyway. For example, I had no idea how to use Premier Pro a month ago, but having watched these following videos, I’ve somehow figured it out:
- Premiere Pro Tutorial for Beginners 2021 – Everything You NEED to KNOW!
- How to Loop Audio in Adobe Audition
- How to Remove Background Noise
- Best Video Export Settings Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020 For Youtube
Truth be told is that as scrappy as I am, I do actually know a thing or two about running businesses and projects. I’ve been doing it for other people for quite a number of years (check my portfolio). It’s just about time I applied it to my own things.
Stepping into areas you don’t have direct experience in is quite daunting. At no point did I ever think I’d be running a food business, I hadn’t even set out for it to be a business, I just liked honey butter for crying out loud! But we’re here now, and the journey has been challenging, but equally rewarding. However, it’s no fun doing it by yourself, or the lessons being learnt and staying with you alone. Plus, you guys might know a thing or two that could help me so please do share!
What to expect from Scrappy Entrepreneurship 101
These will be scrappy, but they will also be helpful (I hope). Expect mostly talking head videos. I’ll try my hardest not to bore you. I’ll also try to share some of the behind the scenes stuff whilst I’m doing them such as developing the website, designing packaging, etc.
If you’re building something, I want to know so please do get in touch!
